Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or lighting industry. The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our branch, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial transactions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or lighting industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends and variances.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Manage accounts payable, including vendor invoices, payment processing, and reconciliation.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, collections, and account reconciliation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with branch management to develop financial plans.
  • Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax payments.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Conduct regular reviews of financial processes and procedures.
  • Process payroll accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and handle related inquiries.
  • Utilize accounting software and financial systems effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Provide training and support to staff on financial systems and procedures.
